Put it on my To-Do list

TaskpaperI really don’t like doing things. Things that i have to do. It’s that whole ‘rebelling against what you’re told’ to do (even though at some stage i’ve chosen to do these things). And so i make lists. Lists of dread. I’ve tried a few programs that allow you to ‘tick off’ things once you’ve completed them, buuuuut, they’re were sorta crap or god forbid, cost money, so i ended up just making a list on text edit. Then i heard about Taskpaper by Hog Bay Software.

It’s looks like a simple version of text edit, with a column on the left where you ‘tick off’ items you’ve listed. That’s it! Simple. But good simple.

I think i may just use Taskpaper instead of Text Edit from now on. Especially when copying text from a source for use in a html document, etc – as it doesn’t use Rich Text Formatting which seems to be the annoying default of Text Edit. There is of course the great BBedit for all those basic html things, but hey, whatever opens quicker is what i’ll use!

I think i’ve found a new friend.

I’ll give Taskpaper a bit of an old look. But iCal’s sexy to-do list doesn’t spice it up enough?

I’ve used this one only to save running separate programs for similar productivity-orientated tasks. It syncs with my phone, too.

I think if you’re already using iCal, you’ll be sorted with it’s own To-Do list, as you say you are.
I’m not using iCal at the moment.

There’s too many buttons to push for me to sync my phone with iCal. I’m that lazy. Or rather, i don’t want to be that inconvenienced.

And it’s annoying having iCal going BOING! alarm! for all the alarms i’ve set on my phone. I get those alarms all going off whenever i open my laptop (when the alarms are a day old, etc) so i’ve just pissed off iCal altogether. Let me know if there’s a setting to turn off alarms for just iCal!

But the moment i’m presented with another product that does what i want better, i’m a convert. There’s no loyalty here!

Sync Now! lets me sync all my calendars and contacts with one click at the dock, but I also have the double reminders from iCal. I guess I’ve just learned to live with the annoyance.

    Bring on iCal 3 iSay!
